The annual event of every new year – to pay the cable bill; will now have some changes. This will give us more options to choose from. Inadvertently, the year of the central govt. elections – a thing on everybody’s mind- can be compared to the process of paying the cable bill. The current central govt. intervened (just like it always does) and now we get a detailed nationwide standard across all platforms; which is good. It’s a onetime worry (just like all the things this govt. did) to rack your brains choose a pack and then pay them annually (which is again good) coz rates are monitored, competition increases, etc. Then there’s Netflix and Prime which like crypto-currencies is border-less (bypasses the censor board) yet unlike cryptocurrencies they remain legal. Money being the name of the game – paid adult channels round the corner, huh! Others will look at the comfort of changing/getting these channels/packs. The bigger players will have a call center, but what about the regional cable guy? Does the hard-working cable-pulling lot get a hike in pay or become obsolete. Comparatively speaking, does the current govt. sympathize with the labour class or easily pass-on the blame to the conglomerates. Laws have changed for the various new things this govt. did (just like this new cable regulation); parallel worst-case scenario being that in 20 years, guns maybe available over counter in stores (the opposition not catching the crux of the ordinance law). While entertainment itself being trivial, yet how can the Rs. 40000/- television set which was always on in all the homes all over the country, just like God in the back of our minds be blank? Or maybe it will display the basic Rs. 130/- DD channels, just like 10 years ago. So the question remains on whom does one vote for? This govt. gained notoriety for looking into everyone’s plate and antagonized one against the other so as to drill down to the microscopic level and build upwards, irritating even the sleeping class. And similar to entertainment; the loud noises/changes is good to make everyone focus towards a common goal (of building a church, or was it a mosque, no a synagogue) of progress actually. The answer would be in noticing how we choose to use our personal cellphones and not fall into the T.V. remote-control power struggle at home; relatively, we need to look at our localities’ MLA and the good done by them, if not a change is required at the local level, which In turn will help everyone and involuntarily the State govt. which will fall in place can challenge the Central govt. making democracy win!
